Top Floor

Involved almost solely in strategic planning (i.e. identifying problems and goals of the coporation, and drawing up proposals to elimate said problems and reach said goals) and giving orders to the other departments, though it is also often directly involved in communications. Typically, those who are both wealthy and the head of the government in their own respective countries find a seat of power here.

Franchising

Members of this floor oversee the company's various franchises. Unlike the Top Floor, promotions to Franchising are based more on merit than on wealth and political standing within one's own country, so it tends to be what more ambitious bottom-rung people aspire to. This is also the floor that houses HQ's design team.

Corporate Communications

If the uppermost floor is the head of HQ, then Communications is both the voice and the backbone holding it all together. Communications is in charge of delivering the messages/statements of HQ, both internally (to its employees and shareholders) and externally (to the public and government). Failure in this department means devestation for the company, and thus, only qualified elite who are otherwise not involved in government are positioned here.

Procurement (CPO)

Involved in aquiring goods and services for the business, at the lowest cost, be it aircraft or handsoap for the lavoratories. Because it involves so much strategic purchasing, a lot of collaboration goes on between it and the Top Floor...or rather, a lot of arguing goes on, with Communications acting as the middleman.

Human Resource Management

Oversees all the employees of the company, and is in charge of selecting, training, assessing, and rewarding the workforce. While HR is technically beneath Communications and Procurement, it is still in control of their salaries and job security...though its decisions can be overridden by those on the Top Floor.

Finances and Legal Department

Taxes and lawsuits. Considered the uppermost of the lower-division departments, this floor may not be home to the most exciting jobs ever, but is still the best that many can hope for. This is the point in the building where offices officially start becoming cubicles.

Marketing

Not situated in the basement, but still considered rock-bottom. This is where you go when you don't qualify as anything more than a telemarketer and/or low-level salesperson.

Information Technology Support

Better known as tech support. Despite being one of the smallest departments and a floor under Marketing, they are still somewhat more prestigious--especially when one considers that they theoretically have the power to do anything to the company's website/servers/individual computers/etc. However, they are typically more inclined to play online games than do much of anything else.
